Home

A number of different organisms call Fanny Bay ‘home’. Aside from the incredibly diverse people who make this place their home (see their listings to the right), Fanny Bay is a wonderful part of the world. Depending on the time of year, you can see (among others):

  • Sea lions by the wharf
  • Oysters and other molluscs along the rocky beaches
  • Eagles, Blue Herons, Osprey, Falcons
  • Orcas & Otters

The waters of Baynes Sound are home to a great diversity of sea life – Jacques Cousteau rated the waters off Hornby Island to be the 2nd best cold-water diving in the world. Our waters are used for both recreation and industry. Indeed, Fanny Bay Oysters are world-renowned.

We live, work and play in Fanny Bay because of our ‘Oceans of Plenty’.

Local community organizations abound – and there’s usually something going on if you know where to look – and since you’re here you’ve found it!
